This has become a famous festival that draws visitors from across the U.S. There will be free seminars, events for the kids, display booths, live hawks and owls (maybe a bald eagle!), and field trips to great birding spots throughout northern Utah.
On Thursday morning I'll guide a road tour through a section of Farmington Bay for photographers. We'll have hands-on sessions at each stop of the tour covering equipment tips, camera settings and shooting techniques. We'll work on hand-held techniques and shooting from a car as well as using a tripod.
On Saturday morning from 8 to 9 am I'm teaching a seminar on bird photography. I'll touch on photography basics, give some tips and tricks for photographing birds, storing your pictures, and how to use your artistic vision to capture those great bird pictures.
For the Saturday night dutch oven dinner this year's keynote speaker is noted artist and author Rosemary Mosco.
